POPULAR QUESTIONS

  • Do you charge for estimates? What is your estimating process?

We do not charge for estimates – never have. Just call our office and schedule an appointment for your FREE bathroom or kitchen estimate.

After a brief phone conversation to determine the requirements for your project, we’ll schedule a time to meet.

During the appointment, we’ll discuss your needs, take measurements, determine materials, assess any personal safety issues, and review layout options. Then your estimate will be written, transcribed, and sent by email, fax, or presented in person.

  • How long will the project take to complete?

Since we only work one project at a time we never “pull off” to work on another project during your construction. We’ve been specializing in remodeling for over 30 years, we can finish promptly while working in fully furnished areas, spotlessly clean up daily, and keep your home just as livable as always.

Most bathroom remodeling jobs take 5 working days, however, the total number of days depends on the types of materials selected, i.e.; tile vs. smooth surface. See our detailed Bathroom Timeline for an overview.

  • Why do prices vary on estimates I am getting from different companies?

There are many different factors to take into consideration when comparing estimates. First, make sure the estimates have the same scope of work and types of materials. For example, does one estimate feature tile while the other features Cultured Marble?

The amount of service provided by the contractor has an effect on the cost of your new bathroom or kitchen also.

If you want the contractor to handle all details of the project the price will probably be higher. If you want to “be your own contractor” and schedule, plan, and supervise the project, the cost will be less. But make sure you actually have the time and knowledge to manage your project.

Also consider if the contractor has a large showroom, which can translate to a large overhead. This will also increase your price. Finally, if the contractor has all proper forms of insurance the price will be slightly higher than a “pick-up contractor,” who may be unlicensed, uninsured, and uses undocumented workers. Taking a chance with a pick-up contractor is usually not worth the risk.

  • Will we be required to move out of our home while construction is taking place?

Very rarely however it depends on how extensive the project is. If you only have one bathroom and one toilet, we will reset the toilet at the end of each day.

Water and electrical will also be turned on at the end of each day. We make every effort to keep a comfortable atmosphere, covering sleeping areas when necessary.

If you order a granite slab that needs to be fabricated for kitchen counters, we will install temporary countertops, a working sink, and a toaster oven so you can use the kitchen while the fabrication takes place.

We completely clean up the work area at the end of each work day and this makes all the difference in the world.
